Adorned in yellow rain ponchos and souvenir sandals this attraction gives visitors an awesome adventure. Feel the intensity of the famous Niagara Falls in this unique tour that allows visitors to get up close in this fascinating experience. The Cave of the Winds tour is my personal favorite attraction when visiting the falls area. It is amazing how you can hear the water crashing over the rocky cliff onto boulders below.

As you climb the iconic stairs that lead you to the “Hurricane Deck” you will be able to witness the powerful force of rushing water that is Niagara Falls. Within a few feet of the falls, guests experience what is referred to as tropical storm like conditions due to the intensity of the water, wind and sound.

Visiting Cave of the Winds

Due to its location and climate, Cave of the Winds has restricted access and seasonally the decks are closed. Usually open from spring to fall, you can visit https://www.niagarafallsstatepark.com/attractions-and-tours/cave-of-the-winds for updated information regarding tickets, hours and pricing.

An option to see Cave of the Winds at a discounted rate if you are going to spend a day or few in the area is to purchase the Niagara Falls Discovery Pass. By visiting https://www.niagarafallsstatepark.com/discovery-pass, you can find a bundled ticket package that allows you to explore multiple attractions in the area for one low price. These attractions include the Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, Adventure Theater, Observation Tower, Trolley, Aquarium of Niagara, Discovery Center and nearby trails of Niagara Falls State Park.

Tips for Your Adventure

Make sure to plan on doing Cave of the Winds as one of your last experiences for the day. Getting up close to the waterfall has the chance to soak your clothes, hair or anything you are carrying even with a poncho.

Also wear the shoes that they provide as the deck may be slippery even though many precautions are taken to prevent such issues.

Do not take any items with you that you cannot easy hold or that are not waterproof as they may be lost or damaged in the wind or spray.

Please read the safety information and warnings from the Cave of the Winds attraction before visiting.

Thanks for reading and as always, keep on truckin’!
