
Often referred to as the “Middle of the Mitten”, St. Louis, Michigan is home to the geographical center of the lower peninsula of the state. This stone (shown below) was placed in 1876 to mark the location. In 2009 the plaque depicted was gifted from local residents and attached to the stone to recognize the location.
To visit this spot it is located near off from M-46 at the corner of Washington and Franklin Streets in Clapp Park and available for photo ops! Why not stop by and explore this unique destination if you are passing by?
